The elementary school letter can be achieved between grades 4 and 8. Points are awarded for participation in extra curricular activities, teams, clubs, service, leadership and for achieving grades warranting a place on the honour roll. Extra points are awarded if the participant advances to a higher level of an activity such as continuing on in public speaking, science fair, track and field, etc. 25 points are required for the school letter and 40 points are required to receive the Award of Merit. New students arriving at BPDS will be required to earn a different amount of points, depending on each situation. The final decision on letters is based on the school committee reviewing submitted applications.
Secondary school letters are earned between grades 9 and 12, in the same manner as above.
